A little about us

Welcome. We are a young family in our 30’s with the main inspiration for Busy B Play being our Son, Jordan, born in August 2020. He is what we live for and bringing him up surrounded by all the nature and Montessori style of play.

My name is Kylie, I am a qualified Chef & personal trainer, now stay at home mum with the love of craft and DIY. Jake is my partner & Carpenter who puts my crazy ideas into action, it’s very handy.

How we started? We were asked to build a Sensory Board for a very close friend for Christmas for their son who is only one month older than Jordan. From there the idea and creation of Busy B Play began. Putting our passion and heads together to create our little family business.

What is Sensory Play

Definition

Research shows that sensory play builds nerve connections in the brain's pathways, which lead to the child's ability to complete more complex learning tasks. Sensory play supports language development, cognitive growth, fine and gross motor skills, problem solving skills, and social interaction.

Sensory and motor development is the gradual process by which a child gains use and coordination of the large muscles of the legs, trunk, and arms, and the smaller muscles of the hands. A baby begins to experience new awareness through sight, touch, taste, smell, and hearing.
